Le Club Francais

Free of Charge and Volunteer Run

 Le Club will not be running a fall session for the 2009/2010 School Year. 

We are looking for volunteers, students who are in need of community service hours.

The commitment is one night a week (typically) Tuesday from 6:30 to 7:30 pm

This years Le Club will have a bit of a different structure, each year we learn new things and the group evolves.
Homework quantity was a lot higher a few years ago when we started and now many times the children are arriving with
less work to do.   We will assist those that have homework with them and those that do not we plan to have small groups
of activities where games will be played and the goal is to be using the French they are learning.

Student count is determined by number of volunteers up to a max of 20.

Le Club Français is held at the Ajax Library Main Branch, 55 Harwood Ave. South in the Children's Program room.  We started
in January of 2005 .   The goal of Le Club Français is to have fun in French and provide a solution to the language barrier
many parents face at homework time.   Activities are planned that support the curriculum.

CPF Durham thanks the Ajax Library for there ongoing support of Le Club Français.
Each session we will be taking up a collection from the kids and  new books will be purchased for the Library and
added to the French collection . Le Club Français is free because of the Library, please show your thanks by donating
for French Books at the end of your child's session.

We are asking at least $10.00 per child be donated.  You may write a cheque made out to CPF Durham if you prefer.

A total of $200.00 was donated by the fall session and CPF Durham added $100.00 to it.
When books are purchased titles will be posted.  Thanks to all that donated.

CPF Ontario awarded to Ajax Library a Story Time Grant in the amount of $2,500 and together with
the Fall le club français members, $2,800 in total was donated for French Books.

Winter 2007 Tuesday group donated a total of $155.00 for the Library. Thanks to everyone.
